Bystrom & Bear
A father-daughter songwriting duo from Florida featuring singer-songwriter Trevor Bystrom and his 13-year-old bonus daughter, Nora Bear. What began with Trevor teaching Nora ukulele and songwriting at age six has grown into a creative partnership and a collection of favorite folk covers and original songs shaped by family, travel, and the rich musical traditions of Florida and Nashville.

Our Story
Bystrom & Bear is the father-daughter songwriting duo of Florida singer-songwriter Trevor Bystrom and 13-year-old Nora Bear. Born from years of playing music together at home, Bystrom & Bear is a family songwriting project built around honest stories, acoustic instrumentation, rich harmonies, and the joy of making music together.
Trevor, a longtime touring musician and songwriter, introduced Nora to music when she was six, teaching her ukulele, guitar chords, and the fundamentals of songwriting. What began as lessons in the backyard grew into a creative partnership of its own.
Nora recently released her first album, produced by Trevor in the family recording studio they built in their backyard in Bradenton, Florida. Trevor has spent years performing throughout Florida and beyond, drawing from Americana, folk, roots, world music, and the diverse musical traditions that have shaped his life.
Together, Bystrom & Bear bring something rare to the stage: two generations of musicians sharing original songs and a genuine musical conversation. Their performances move between intimate singer-songwriter moments, playful family chemistry, and heartfelt harmonies, creating a show that feels equally at home in a listening room, songwriter round, festival, or outdoor concert series. Every summer, the family travels to Nashville to write, perform, and immerse themselves in the songwriting community, while continuing to build their connection to the music and culture of Tampa Bay Florida and down to the Keys.
